1 Bioinformatician position on morphological novelties and insect evolution

Eligibility

The bioinformatician should have completed a degree in the field of Biology, Biomedicine, Computational Biology or related areas, ability to work independently and as part of a team and proficiency in English (oral and written). Previous experience in transcriptomics, epigenetics or single cell approaches, programming skills in languages commonly used in bioinformatics (Python or R, etc), creativity and high motivation are highly encouraged.

Job description

We are offering 1 year initially with possibility of up to 3 years of extension. Remuneration is based on professional experience. The expected starting date is from September 2023.

Working environment and life in Barcelona

The bioinformatician will join the Almudi lab, recently established at the Department of Genetics, Microbiology and Statistics and the Institute de la Recerca de la Biodiversitat (IRBio) at the University of Barcelona. 1 PhD student position on morphological novelties and insect evolution

Eligibility

The PhD student should have completed a Masters in the field of Biology, Biomedicine, or related areas, ability to work independently and as part of a team and proficiency in English (oral and written). The project in which the PhD student will be involved will include performing molecular biology techniques, single cell transcriptomics, immunohistochemistry, transgenesis, CRISPR and confocal imaging in order to investigate the GRNs functioning in insect wings, and how they evolved throughout the phylogeny of winged insects.

We are offering 1 year initially with possibility of up to 4 years of extension. Remuneration is based on professional experience (20400€-25000€ gross/year). The expected starting date is from September 2023.
